Amsterdam ,the capital of Netherlands, was a weekend getaway.  People love this place for a thousands of reasons. Starting from my childhood ideas of large tulip gardens created by Bollywood movies (esp. Silsilay) to the idea of a heaven for weed smokers known from my graduation days, Amsterdam is always on the bucket-list of every European traveler.  But, it is a lot more than this. The artistic heritage and the canal inter-connectivity makes it a great place to visit. It was a one day trip as the title suggests. The day started by visiting the Rijksmuseum in the museum district to see the famous IAMSTERDAM structure. We also came across the Van Gogh Museum.

Luckily, we also got to see the Miffy art parade displayed in front of the Rijksmuseum. In 2015, Miffy was celebrating its 60 years of launch by displaying year long art parades at various location. The Miffy Art Parade unites, inspires and is helping to create a better future in partnership with UNICEF. A queue of these beautiful miffy structures was a treat for the eyes. The picture below shows the most famous “Blue Miffy” by Hugo Kaagman followed by “Mr. Manhattan” designed by Selwyn Senatori and so on.

If you have heard of Amsterdam, you must have heard its flower gardens. It wasn’t possible to visit the gardens in a one day trip, so I made sure I had good view with the famous flower market on my way to Dam Square.

The canal system and the unique architecture as you stroll across the city  brings out happiness among all travelers.

Madame Tussaud was also a must go as I had been into one before that. The wax statues and live wax mold making workshop available inside was pretty interesting.The view of the city from top floor was lovely.

There was also a church near the Anne Frank House which got me the best click of the trip, The GODly Apparition.

Last but not the least, I will wrap up this post with pictures of two story-makers of Amsterdam.
